Cannon Puncturing/4th walling.
Please, feel free, only, stick with the TV show. The movie doesn't exist? Since technically Leonard comes from another universe off the main universe. I love Sci-fi, when it's a viable option to reboot a franchise. Lets kick them to another universe!
Profile:
Character Name: Dr. "Bones" Leonard Horatio McCoy
Age: 31
Canon: Star Trek: AOS (XI, Movie reboot, etc)
Appearance:
McCoy is tall with long limbs. He's fairly well toned. It's more the sort of muscle tone that comes from hard work lifting and moving supplies and patients than any sort of working out. McCoy has a broad chest which tied with his lanky limbs, makes him seem 'solid'.
McCoy has a round face. Brown eyes and brown hair. His beard is dark and grows quickly, giving him the look of being a messy unshaven guy even when he is trying to take care of it. He has quite the intense glare which can be turned to his work, or whatever idiot crosses his path. He usually keeps his hair short but it's the last thing on his mind, often its overgrown or mussed after a long stint in the infirmary. He's been said to be particularly expressive with his eyebrows. A raised eyebrow or a furrowed brow has been known to send underlings running in fear of what comes next. Jim just thinks it's hysterical.
((AKA Insert Karl Urban here)
Personality:
Much of Leonard's personality can be summed up by a few things, one of which is, impatience with stupidity. Leonard is at heart, a good guy. He cares for his patients, and his friends.
Actually sometimes he cares a little too much. Thus, over time, he's
become seemingly sarcastic and bitter but really it's just to protect
his soft mushy middle. Anyone who takes the time to get past the sarcasm
and curtness finds a fast friend and sweetheart. Not that he'd like
being described that way.
He's dedicated to his patients.
Dedicated to the point that he'll sometimes overstep his bounds as a
healer to make sure they take care of themselves. He hates stupidity and
incompetence and will let you know it. He's military trained, and he
survived his various internships at hospitals to become a doctor. He
knows when to turn the sarcasm off. It's just not where his superiors
seem to think he needs to stop being sarcastic.
McCoy is also loyal. Loyal to a fault, it's not cannon but I like to think that’s why he was in such a state when he met Kirk in the shuttle. Despite it all, despite a failing marriage, he was going to try and make it work damn it. When it became obvious that he couldn't, or that she didn't want to, he hurt him pretty deep. He also broke some serious regulations to help a Kirk stow away on the Enterprise during the Narada incident. All acts of a very loyal guy.
Perhaps folded in with the loyalty is that he's defensive of his friends. After Spock marooned Kirk on Delta Vega, McCoy was the first one to challenge that decision. Granted, it ended up doing nothing, (although, it did spawn the hilarious "Kirk=prized stallion" reference, for which, fangirls are incredibly appreciative), but the point is, is that he has no problem defending the actions of those closest to him. He has no problem pointing out what he sees as stupidity, no matter who you are, acting captain or not.
McCoy fixes things be it your body, or your soul.
Canon point:
Post movie. They've landed, and started out on the five year mission, before they can even really get going, *poof* McCoy in his tighty-whiteys.
Background:
From Memory Alpha (ST Wiki!)
Special Abilities:
His abilities are pretty much his sarcastic mouth. Well and of course his ability to heal the "unmagical" way. For this game I'd like to add the force healing to his repertoire.
Sect:
Grumpy Jedi Knight Healer, so, technically a Jedi Consular but he's like the
most undiplomatic consular in the order. He'll yell at masters, and council masters if he thinks they're getting in his way. Or he could be a Padawan Healer, whichever the mods feels fits the story of the universe better. I'm totally open to either. (McCoy would not be happy about being reduced to the equivalent of med school again though lol))
Job:
Jedi Healer, and/or Padawan healer.
